Lab celebration for the acceptance of two manuscripts!
Kirill presenting his work on oligodendrocyte progenitor cells in Berlin at the International Neurotrauma Symposium
Congratulations to Marta for publication of her perspective “Gut-brain axis in traumatic brain injury: impact on neuroinflammation” in Neural Regeneration Research.
Congratulations to Ilakkia for being awarded a Goldwater Scholarship to study the impact of repetitive head injury on the gut microbiome.
We love to eat! Lunch with the Steed lab celebrating our joint publication on gut microbiota modulation of neuroinflammation in TBI.
Congrats to Marta Celorrio for winning the Perron Institute award for outstanding poster presentation at the International Neurotrauma Symposium for her work on the impact of gut microbial dysbiosis on inflammation after TBI! We are all so proud of her and wish she could have travelled to Australia as originally planned before COVID! We are sure Marta has her bag packed and ready for the next International Neurotrauma symposium once COVID is over!
Proud to share our lab’s work on the gut microbiota’s impact on neuroinflammation and neurogenesis in TBI. This is just the tip of the iceberg. So many exciting questions to study moving forward! Congrats to the whole team!
Congratulations to Sophia, Ilakkia and Camryn for being admitted into the Pediatric Student Research Program. We are so very excited that they will be spending the summer with us!
Proud to share our lab’s latest publication utilizing a clinically relevant timeframe for the study of neuroprotective therapeutics in TBI. Some positive and some negative data. Tiny step in the battle to overcome “lost in translation.”
Paperwork, visas, pandemics oh my! Despite the obstacles, Kirill has arrived to start his post doc in the lab. We are excited for him to join us!
Welcome to Miguel, a graduate from Spain, who will spending the summer in the lab studying the influence of gut microbial dysbiosis on immune cell populations after TBI.
Congratulations to Trey who will be headed to medical school this summer!
Sangeetha comes to us from the University of Missouri and has joined the lab as a research technician.
